You will start by visiting the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and then head to Murchison Falls National Park, where you will go on game drives and a boat cruise to see wildlife such as elephants, lions, giraffes, hippos, and crocodiles.
You will then transfer to Kibale National Park, where you will go on a chimpanzee trek and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for more game drives and a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. You will then transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a gorilla trek and cultural encounter with the Batwa people.
Finally, you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for a game drive and launch cruise before returning to Kampala. This trip will give you the opportunity to see Uganda's incredible wildlife up close, as well as learn about the country's rich culture and history.
On the first day of your trip, you will be picked up by your guide in Kampala or Entebbe and driven to Murchison Falls National Park. On the way, you will pass through the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, which is the only place in Uganda where you can see endangered rhinos in the wild. You will have the opportunity to take a guided walk to see the rhinos and learn more about conservation efforts to protect them.
After visiting the sanctuary, you will continue to Murchison Falls National Park. The park is located in the northwestern part of Uganda and is named after the Murchison Falls, a spectacular waterfall on the Nile River that is one of the main attractions of the park. You will check into your accommodation, which may be a lodge or a campsite, and have some time to relax and enjoy the park's beautiful surroundings.
On day two, after your breakfast you will start with an early morning game drive in Murchison Falls National Park. You will set out in a 4x4 vehicle with your guide, looking for wildlife such as lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and more. The park is also home to over 450 bird species, so you will have the chance to spot a variety of feathered friends as well. You will explore the hidden gem of the park taking the different tracks of Victoria, Albert and Queens’s track while on the game drive up to the delta region where there is a lot of concentration of hippos and different aquatic life.
After the game drive, you will return to your accommodation for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, you will go on a boat cruise on the Nile River to the base of the Murchison Falls. The boat ride is a great opportunity to see wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. You will also get a chance to see the falls up close and take some amazing photos. Later after your return journey of the boat you will drive back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
On day three, after your breakfast, you will leave Murchison Falls and drive to Kibale National Park. The journey takes you through some beautiful countryside, and you will have the chance to see traditional Ugandan villages and markets along the way. Kibale National Park is located in the western part of Uganda and is known for its chimpanzee population. You will check into your accommodation, which may be a lodge or a campsite, and have some time to relax.
On the fourth day, after your breakfast you will go chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park. You will start with a briefing by a park ranger who will explain the rules and regulations for trekking, as well as the behavior and characteristics of the chimpanzees. You will then set out on a guided hike through the forest, looking for chimpanzees and other primates such as colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and more. Once you locate a group of chimpanzees, you will spend up to one hour observing and photographing them.
After the chimpanzee trekking, you will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, along the way you will have a stopover with a food outlet for lunch and after embark on the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This park is located in the western part of Uganda and is known for its diverse wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, hippos, and more. You will check into your accommodation, which may be a lodge or a campsite, and have some time to relax.
On day five, after your breakfast you will start with a game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will set out in a 4x4 vehicle with your guide, looking for wildlife such as elephants, lions, leopards, hyenas, buffalo, and more. The park is also home to over 600 bird species, so you will have the chance to spot a variety of feathered friends as well.
After the game drive, you will return to your accommodation for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, you will go on a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. The boat ride is a great opportunity to see wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalo, and a variety of bird species. You will also get a chance to see local fishermen at work and learn more about their traditional fishing techniques.
On day six, after the breakfast you will leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will embark on the journey which will take you through some stunning landscapes, and you will have the chance to see traditional Ugandan villages and markets along the way. You will view the different part of the country side with captivating features that will capture your mind and leave memories with you. Eventually you will sign into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which is located in the southwestern part of Uganda and is known for its population of endangered mountain gorillas. You will check into your accommodation, which may be a lodge or a campsite, and have some time to relax.
On day seven, after your breakfast, you will go on a gorilla trek in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will start with a briefing by a park ranger who will explain the rules and regulations for trekking, as well as the behavior and characteristics of the gorillas. You will then set out on a guided hike through the forest, looking for a gorilla family. Once you locate a family, you will spend up to one hour observing and photographing them.
After the gorilla trek you will return to the lodge for lunch and have some rest. After regaining and refreshing yourself, you will have a cultural encounter with the Batwa people, who are indigenous to the forest and have a deep knowledge of the ecosystem. You will learn about their traditional way of life and participate in some cultural activities.
Later in the day, you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for an afternoon launch cruise. The cruise takes you on the lake to see wildlife such as hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. You will check into the booked accommodation to relax from the long day, have dinner and overnight stay.
On day eight, after your breakfast you will start with a morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park. You will set out in a 4x4 vehicle with your guide, looking for wildlife such as zebras, impalas, topis, buffalos, and more. The park is also home to over 300 bird species, so you will have the chance to spot a variety of feathered friends as well.
After the game drive, you will have lunch and then transfer back to Kampala. Along the way, you will stop at the equator for some photos and to learn about the science of the equator. You will arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon or early evening and check into your accommodation.
On day 9, after your breakfast you will depart from Lake Mburo National Park and head back to Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. You will start the day with a morning game drive in the park, where you will have the opportunity to see more wildlife such as zebras, impalas, and waterbucks.
After the game drive, you will leave the park and drive back to Kampala. The drive will take approximately 3-4 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to stop for lunch and to take in the scenic views of the Ugandan countryside.
Upon arrival in Kampala, you will be dropped off at your accommodation or at the airport for your onward journey.
